CSH

Healthy Families / Healthy Schools

The Mississippi team awarded eight “Healthy Families/Healthy Schools” mini-grants to schools for the purpose of increasing parental support, promoting participation in school health initiatives, and improving health behaviors of parents and students.  CDC’s School Health Profiles data for MS revealed the need for schools to engage parents in school health initiatives and to provide resources for promoting healthy living at home and school.  These mini-grants were financially supported with funds received from the Centers for Disease Control and the CSH team provided training, resources, and technical assistance throughout the 9 month mini-grant period.
