After-School Matters!
The After-School Matters Project addresses HIV prevention education during after-school programs using the evidence-based program B.A.R.T. (Becoming A Responsible Teen). This project is collaboration between The After-School Institute, the Mayor’s Office of Baltimore City, the Infectious Disease and Environmental Health Administration and Baltimore City Public Schools. High school students participate in a 16-hour training that promotes advocacy and education amongst their peers about the risk factors associated with HIV, STDs, and Teenage Pregnancy Prevention.
